SHE TALKED AT SIX MONTHS OLD -- FIRST OF ITS KIND EVER

“Mummy, I don’t want the food you gave me yesterday, it made me vomit; yes, that one over there”. The mom stared at her for some seconds and asked: “Ok, so which do you want?” Joyfully, she replied “that one over there”; and so the conversation continued.

Alinma, to the amazement of all, communicates well in words at just six months old. She’s the very first in my village. Our village has become a tourist centre of sort these few months, owing to this new development. Renowned scientists troop into our village to find what to make of this. Not only them, many people, fascinated by the news of a six-month old talking child, want to see her with their eyes and hear her speak with their ears. She has also received lot of gifts from so many ‘tourists’, and her rear gift has made her parents fortunate over night. Her parents who some twelve months ago were abused, criticized, stigmatized and all sort of verbal plus physical abuses for not facing the ‘book’ for which they were sent to the university to read but rather fell for peer pressure and indulged in one of the negative acts which peer pressure cause, now smile to the bank and are having the best ‘laughs’ currently by the unfolding of recent events.

But wait a minute! What have I been writing! I must have been lost in thoughts, though not high on something. But on a second thought, imagine if this was true, imagine if Alinma truly existed; and not only her, imagine if children from the day they were born, talk; and at six months, they have perfected talking. Put on your imagining cap, would the world be the same? Would the events and happenings we all see today still take place?  Would the conditions that make the world what it is today still be available? What if added to the talking, they perfect walking in three months? Would life still be the same as it is?

But then, all glory, honour and adoration to the one and only Creator and owner of the world and all that is in it [“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1).]. The Almighty God, He is, He was, and He is to come; He remains the same from generations to generations and his ways and words never change from ages to ages. He made us understand that we can never think or do like Him [“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55: 8 – 9)]. He created all things and saw that they were good [“And God saw everything that he has made, and behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1: 31a)]. His creations were good in His eyes, and if that is established, what then? His authority can’t be questioned. If the Creator can see that his creations were good, then, I can say that, we, and the world we occupy, and the entire universe were made in the best of ways possible.
