A PUSH IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE

There was a very wealthy and influential king who offered his daughter, the princess, for marriage. The man that will have her hand in marriage must win a swimming contest; the prize alongside the princess was the control of up to half of the kingdom. Of course, men, in their hundreds, from around the world showed interest.

The day of the contest came. All the contestants were set as they all came with the mindset to win. Some minutes to the start, the following information was given: "Hear, ye contestants. Be aware that the winner of this contest shall have the princess as a wife and also be a joint-ruler of this great kingdom; having control up to half, if he so desire. But note that there exist silent but ferocious crocodiles in the water, any man that swim past them and come out alive first shall be the winner".

Did you just say crocodiles; I guess they must have asked. The men began to move away from the very big pool of water as quick and fast as possible. But in the rush, a man was pushed into the water. With no other options left him, he swam as fast as he could to get out of the water. He came out, panting really hard, but couldn't believe he just survive a crocodile-filled pool of water.

He was announced the winner and it was revealed that there was no crocodile in the water, it was just said to know the man that truly wanted to win regardless of any obstacles.

Many a time, we want to get ourselves involve in stuffs (good ones) but at a point, there comes that thing (obstacles, etc) and before we know what's happening, we give excuses (unreasonable ones) on why we shouldn't continue and that is the end of that. I, for one, have been a victim times without number.

In situation like this, all we need, like the winner of the contest, is a push. This we can get from around us. I have been able to identify that I get push from hearing, reading, meditating and some others ways. How do you get yours? You should also seek, find and use.

In the end, Cameron Diaz said, “Your regrets aren't what you did, but what you didn't do. So I take every opportunity".
